Ken Gabel, Owner
Ken Gabel is a local entrepreneur born and raised in Toledo. He and his family own and operate VM Systems, an HVAC contractor specializing in sheet metal, which has been a benefit in facilitating many projects and improvements at Barr’s Public House. Ken has always wanted to own a bar & is happy that he has had the opportunity to buy and create such a unique pub and grill as Barr’s Public House. He also feels very lucky to have such a large and supportive group of family and friends who frequent the pub. He and his family are fun-loving people and make all the guests and employees at BPH feel very comfortable and accepted as part of the Gabel Clan! One of his favorite things about owning a bar is socializing with the regular guests and meeting new people. One more interesting fact about Ken is: his drink of choice is Bud Select- even though the bar focuses on craft beer- it’s always safe to assume that there’s plenty in stock!
Ken thanks you for your patronage & looks forward to meeting you soon. Cheers!

Stephanie Soldner, Managing Partner
Stephanie began working in the hospitality/service industry when she was 19 yrs. old; she has progressed from server, to bartender, to management. Now, with over ten years of industry experience, she is able to use that knowledge & expand on it for her guests and her staff. She loves learning new facts about wine & craft beer, and is always enthusiastic when she has something new to offer. One of her favorite things to do is research the top trends in Chicago, New York & L.A. and then use those ideas to create something that is totally new to the Midwest. The pub features a dynamic cocktail menu, wine list & craft beer selection, which she takes great pride in making sure that there is a balance between the trendy and the classic offerings. Stephanie also loves the challenge of evolving while training and coordinating with her staff so that her guests can have a consistent and top-notch experience. A few things that she feels sets herself and the pub apart from the rest is their positivity and friendliness, comfortable ambiance and quality pub fare.
“It just feels good to work here, we have a great staff & clientele, and we are constantly striving to improve.”
